Fits Grand Vitara I (1998–2005) and XL7 pre-facelift (2001–2003). With right inner CV joint extension, it can also be installed in Vitara I (1995–1998) wide frame versions: 2.0 16v, 2.0 V6, 2.0 TD RF.

Center shaft diameter 24 mm = “thin” drive shaft (L = 607 mm; outer CV joint ⌀ 76 mm, inner CV joint ⌀ 76 mm), typically found in:

“Thin” and “thick” drive shafts have the same total length L = 607 mm, 26 splines (wheel side) and 3 bolts (differential side), so complete drive shafts are interchangeable.
CV joints are NOT interchangeable, as each type uses a different spline count on the center shaft (29, 30, 32 splines).

Center shaft diameter 28 mm = “XL7 facelift” drive shaft – NOT interchangeable with “thin” or “thick” versions due to shorter length (L = 588 mm; outer CV joint ⌀ 81 mm, inner CV joint ⌀ 79 mm), found in:

• Grand Vitara XL7 2.7 V6 facelift (2003–2005)
• Grand Vitara XL7 2.0 HDi (2003–2005)
